Dhancop (Copper Oxychloride, 50% WP) derived from copper is a comprehensive fungicide that is averse to fungal as well as bacterial diseases and set control through contact action. It carries out effectively due to its powdered appearance, which adds a plus point as it stick to the leaves and hampers the growth of fungus.
The fungicide acts as an extensive contact protection agent. The enzyme-blocking properties of copper occur because this element strongly bonds to amino acids and carboxyl groups, which cause protein reactions in target organisms. The sulphahydral groups of specific enzymes become inactivated when copper binds to them. The active accumulation of copper by spores leads to spore germination inhibition at all levels of concentration.
