Implode belongs to the pyrazolone class of herbicides and acts as an HPPD (hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase) inhibitor. It blocks the HPPD enzyme, disrupting carotenoid biosynthesis in the target weeds, which leads to bleaching of plant tissue and eventual death of the weeds, while being selective and safe to Maize.
