(Halosulfuron Methyl (6%) and Metribuzin (50%) WG)
Tizom is a jointly developed research product of Dhanuka Agritech Limited & Nissan Chemicals Japan. Tizom is a dual action herbicide combination of Halosulfuron Methyl (6%) and Metribuzin (50%) WG. It is a selective and systemic herbicide for sugarcane crops. It controls a range of weeds, including major broadleaf weeds (BLWs), narrowleaf weeds (NLWs), and the most challenging sedge, Cyperus rotundus as well.
Its has dual mode of action, targeting weeds via two different biochemical pathways which enhances its weed control efficacy and helps delay in resistant development. Moving both acropetally and basipetally through the xylem and phloem. It inhibits acetolactate synthase (ALS), the first enzyme in the branched-chain amino acid biosynthesis pathway (Valine, leucine & isoleucine)and blocks photosystem II.
